REMIX // Black vest

Happy Leap Day!

Now that I've been blogging for a while, I figured it was time for a remix post! I love reading these posts as it's such an inspiration to see how to style an item in so many ways! As much as I love picking up new pieces, it can be just as fun trying to reinvent an item you already have.

 The item I'm going to talk about today is a blazer-vest I picked up from Charlotte Russe back in September. I never go in Charlotte Russe but some reason I decided to check it out and I found this stunning black vest! Considering I never buy things at retail prices, I knew I needed to get my wear out of it.

I found this dress (originally from Tobi) at my favorite thrift store back home. I bought it to sell it (which I did) but I wanted to challenge myself to see how I could style it. I thought this look would have been perfect for a Christmas party! 

This look was definitely inspired by Anne Hathaway in The Intern and I couldn't be more pleased as to how it turned out: here. I also never thought I could pull off the flared jeans trend that was (still is?) going on but I am a huge fan now! It's also great that this vest can go perfectly with pants or dresses! 

Definitely a favorite place to shoot and one of my most loved outfits: here. I loved pairing the black blazer with a black skirt - it made everything so seamless!

I remember getting dressed this day and just wanted to wear some of my favorite pieces. I'm beyond glad I picked up this black vest! It's become such a versatile piece in my wardrobe. It's easy to dress up but it also looks fantastic with a good pair of jeans.

I've been a little bit in a rut when it comes to photos for my blog recently. I don't know why but I found these photos very hard to take. It could be because I had to run to the park to catch the sun after work and almost broke my ankle hopping a fence! Oops. It's also been so windy here lately. Taking off my coat for these photos was definitely a challenge. 

To rectify the problem of photography-block, I decided to pick out some of my favorite pieces and see if that would help. It didn't but I felt awesome all day so I guess that's a win? I knew I wanted to wear my blazer vest. I've featured it a bunch of times on the blog but I just can't stop wearing it. I got it at Charlotte Russe but I've seen them all over the high street this season. I paired it with my ribbed t-shirt from Gap and my favorite circle skirt from Urban Outfitters (last season).

Tips for Selling Your Clothes Online

So, I've been selling clothes online for a while and I thought it was about time I share my secrets and tips to selling your clothes online.

It was windy. My hair is a mess. I'm sorry. 

Before I get into the outfit - I wanted to address my new banner! I'm really excited about it. As I'm getting more into blogging and maybe monetizing in the future, I just thought it was time to make something a little more my personality instead of plain script. I used a photo of some trees I took this fall and I just love how it turned out. I also changed the width of things around so my photos are bigger! That's something that has been bothering me for a while. My pictures just weren't the size I was looking for. So, I changed. 

Okay, onto the outfit...

Vintage dresses are something I have a love/hate relationship with. I love seeing them on other people, I love perusing the thrift stores for them but when I actually go to try them on? No, thanks. They never seem to fit me right. Either too long, too frumpy, or just awkward - I can never seem to find a good vintage dress for my size or price range. And I know, I could get things taken in but that can be expensive. I would love to shop in true vintage shops but most of them are too expensive for my current budget so I have to stick to finding them at thrift stores, which can be interesting. But it sure doesn't stop me from trying to find the perfect vintage pieces. And don't get me wrong - I've found some great ones. They are just far and few between. 

I found this dress at Savers for way too much money but I just couldn't let it go (okay, it was like 12$). It fits like a glove and I love that it has sleeves. I'm always looking for a good dress with a collar and sleeves. I also have a really hard time finding vintage dresses that fit me length-wise so I was beyond thrilled to find this one. I've been struggling on how to wear it this winter but I really like it paired with black.
