I'm so excited because I'm back with a new thrift haul! This is kind of an end of summer thrift haul but with lots of fall pieces thrown in. I've been thrifting a crazy amount recently (mostly building up my own wardrobe as a lot of my clothes don't fit and building back up my online shops!)

Do I look ridiculous?

I've been trying to get this post out since Monday. I'm not sure what happened but I just couldn't do it. 

This outfit post was supposed to be simple. Me in a maxi dress (which I NEVER wear) and some simple sandals. But then I decided to show you guys these sunglasses my friend gave me a long time ago. And they instantly made this outfit SUPER GLAM! I mean, really. I feel a little ridiculous even posting these.  

I wear regular glasses normally so I can't actually wear these sunglasses in my daily life or I can't see! But they are actual ray-ban sunglasses so I feel pretty special owning them now even if I can't wear them on the regular. ha! I also don't know how regularly I'll wear this dress. I love it for the hot weather we're having right now but I just don't know if I can pull off the maxi dress style. What do you think?  

I miss writing for this blog because I definitely used to be more daring with my sartorial choices. 

I have a post coming up explaining where I've been because I realized how little I've posted here. It's not just that my social life is crazy (which it is) or my job is busy. Although, I did get a kitten!! 

 I did film a few videos this weekend so be on the lookout for this soon!! I'm excited to get back into filming. I actually am working on some side videography projects for some friends of mine soon (I hope), which I am really excited about.

What to wear in 100+ degrees

I was hoping we would escape the boiling 100+ degree heat (37 c) this year but alas... we didn't. This past week has been pretty brutal. So, this dress is pretty much the only thing I want to wear! It's flowy, comfortable, and pretty thin. Perfect for this time of year (hell let's be real here). 

I mentioned in my last post that I did quite a lot of thrifting a few weekends ago. This dress was one of my finds and I love it. It was actually in the shirt section of goodwill so I got it for only $3.50! What a steal considering it's an Alice x UO (urban outfitters) collaboration! This was a piece I considered selling but it's just so comfy! 

To beat the heat,  I woke up pretty early on Saturday morning and shot these by my apartment complex. I think I've finally found my groove with blogging again. 1 - 2 posts a week is so much more manageable and better for my crazy schedule right now! Starting in August, I'll be taking a sign language class at the local university here and I am so excited! I'm taking a casual one right now but I really like it so I'm going to continue learning. 

I also added a new addition to my household so you'll have to wait and hear about that one... but let's just say she is cute and fluffy!! I actually have a lot of exciting content coming your way in the next few weeks. Hooray for feeling inspired again! But anyways...

Millennial Pink

So, apparently, there is now a fad called Millennial Pink. And I guess you could say, I really dig it. I didn't really realize it was such a popular color until I was reading a blog and they mentioned it. I've had this shirt for around three years and I'd say it's a perfect example of millennial pink. I'm actually pretty surprised this shirt has held up the last three years. It's originally from Primark but I thrifted it while living in Ireland. 

Does this mean that most millennials like this color? I don't really get the point of millennial pink but I guess since I am a millennial and I do like this color, I am part of the fad? or trend? whatever. I mean just look at my blog theme! Covered in the color and I didn't even realize it was a thing up until last week!

 I wouldn't even consider myself a really girly person, especially right now. It's weird because whenever I look at my dresses (or wear them!) they don't fee like me? At least right now. I'm sure that will change but I've been pretty much living in pants the past few months. 

I'd say this outfit is one of my most typical for work these days. I've actually had these trousers for a pretty long time but I've never featured them on the blog! They are really comfortable so, that is awesome for work! And I know, I know. I've featured this black vest about a million times. But it goes with everything!!

I'M BACK

I can't believe I'm actually sitting here writing a blog post! It's been too long. It feels almost foreign to be writing on this space again but I missed it too much.

I wasn't planning on being away for so long. In fact, I was planning on getting back into blogging during the new year... and then life happened. I've been really, really busy, which I know everyone hates to hear from bloggers/youtubers. But it's true. I realized this week I haven't really felt like myself recently, which is really strange. For the past few months I've been really busy with a social life, which is good and bad. I feel like I went from 0 to 100 when it comes to my social life so sometimes it can be a little overwhelming. I'm very much an introvert so this new extroverted lifestyle might be getting the better of me... 

So, I realized I really needed a distraction and blogging has always been my favorite thing to distract me from the real world so I'M BACK! I will probably be only posting once or twice a week but it's better than the radio silence, huh?

These photos aren't my favorite. My dress is terribly wrinkled, my hair is a MESS, and my compositions are bland but you know what? I'm okay with it! I've been wearing this outfit weekly since I thrifted this dress back in December.

 I'm just happy to want to blog again. I haven't even been thrifting that much recently, which makes me a little sad. I have been trying out a lot of beauty products recently (thanks Birchbox and Sephora play boxes!) so I can't wait to share what I've been loving next week.

Wishing I Were Home

For Thanksgiving I had quite a difficult time getting home. Apparently Christmas is going to be no different. 

It's Christmas eve and I'm currently stranded at the airport. On Thanksgiving I was flying out the Wednesday evening before and my flight got cancelled. I ended up getting to Atlanta at 3am, sleeping at the airport, and catching another flight at 8am. It was pretty horrendous, to be honest. 

This time there is another plane malfunction (seriously???) so my flight's been delayed for a few hours. So. Here I am writing a blog post! I normally don't have this much trouble with flights but for some reason this holiday season has not been on my side! Normally, my travel stories end with a happy ending that I get a lot of free airline miles or something but no such luck recently. 

I took some photos inside yesterday because I felt like getting some blog content done but it was raining. I am excited to visit some of my old blog photo locations from when I started this blog. I'm excited for a lot of things in the upcoming week. No work, lots of running, good food, family and friends I haven't seen in a long time! It should be really relaxing.

Ready For Halloween

The title of this post is a bit misleading. I probably won't be dressing up for Halloween this year as I work in an office. I'm sure they wouldn't mind if I dressed up but I might feel a little silly dressing up by myself. Children probably won't come to my apartment complex to trick or treat. I don't have any plans to attend a party so in fact, I am not ready for Halloween after all. 

But this outfit makes me feel a bit more in the spirit of halloween. I am loving that velvet is a huge trend this season as I've been obsessed with it for a few years now. It's warm, cozy, and so chic! I think I own two velvet skirts, a dress and leggings - oops. I'm planning on filming a velvet lookbook this weekend so look out for that next week! 

Growing up I used to make all of my own costumes. The most notable being Shaun White, Michael Phelps and a pink poodle. I wish I could find photos of those costumes. I was pretty proud of them. Now I usually default to dressing as the Log Lady from Twin Peaks. All you need is a log, flannel shirt, big glasses, and some hiking boots! Maybe the next time I have plans for halloween I'll get more creative with my costume but for now the log lady works fine for me. 

I had to do some editing magic (Thanks photoshop!) to make these photos match how I feel about autumn and halloween. The colors and cooler weather are taking their own sweet time here. But at least I can go outside in a sweater and not want to die of a heat stroke, right?

How to Resell Thrifted Clothing / Video

This has been a video that I've been wanting to make for a while. I originally started writing it as a blog post but I realized I had too much to say on the topic. 

I started selling my old clothes on various selling apps... but then I realized I could make some money off of it by selling my thrifted finds. So, I'm giving away my secrets on how to resell and flip thrifted clothing in the video below!

The Next Step

I've gotten to a point where all I want to do is work on my blog and make tons of video content.  At work I'm often jotting down blog post ideas, outfit ideas, videos I want to film. It's a never ending list of things I want to create for this space, which is a great feeling. But I just don't have the time or the daylight to create it all. 

I even started looking at a graduate course in Amsterdam called "New Media and Culture" where it focuses on academic blogging, social media, and everything that comes with it. Who knows if I'll apply because the thought of writing a thesis right now sounds pretty daunting... but I suppose it's worth looking into.  

I've been reading and watching so many articles/videos about how people like me have turned their passion project into a career. I'm nowhere near that point yet but it's such a cool idea to me. I love that people have been able to make creative careers out of a project they developed themselves. 

I doubt I'll ever be self-employed but it sure does sound like a dream. And I still feel like I'm constantly dreaming of moving to Europe. So many countries so close together! GOOD public transit! The food! Everything about it is so appealing but the only way it looks like I might be able to get there is through graduate school, which seems like an okay option. I just have to figure out what I want to do with my life first... 

It's scary to try and figure out the next step in my life but it's almost all I think about now. Where should I live? What should I study? Where should I work? I don't know if I'll ever figure it all out but I wish I could figure out this next step a little easier.
