Getting My Mojo Back

I've been dying to shoot at this track since I moved. It's a middle school right by my house and every weekend I've gotten up and headed out to shoot while the sun was rising. Every time I get to the track there are already tons of runners/walkers out there. But for some reason on Sunday there as only one person walking so I decided to go for it! And I'm so happy I did!

I can't pinpoint what changed but I'm feeling very empowered with this blog again. I took so many photos for this week and lots of video content!

It's funny how slumps can work. The weather hasn't changed drastically (it's still blazing hot!) but it's changed enough in the mornings that I want to get out and take photos again. I think my body has gotten used to waking up really early too, which is a big bonus. And while I think I'm getting out of my blog slump, I feel like I'm in a slump in almost every other aspect of my life (work, friendships, etc, etc).... but that's for another day! I'm going to focus on the fact that I want to create content again. I want to get outside. I want to explore more.

Sometimes I think (okay, I KNOW) I get bogged down with social media when it comes to blogging. I am constantly asking myself why my blog isn't growing quickly, why I keep loosing followers on instagram, etc but you know what? IT DOESN'T MATTER! What matters is that I like creating content and I'm happy with what I produce, which I am right now. So I might never make this my full-time job (a girl can dream!) but I can enjoy and be proud of what I'm doing.

Turtleneck Dress

Sweater Tights and Reflections

It's been a crazy month. I got back from Europe on the 22nd and haven't really had a moment to breathe until this week. Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas and everything that comes with it but a good lounge day is in order.

I thought I'd take this time to reflect on the past year and maybe share some goals for the upcoming one. This year has definitely been one of the most challenging but wonderful years of my life. I know a lot of people probably say that but this year has definitely had it's ups and downs.

Turtlenecks and denim

I've picked up a few turtlenecks from the thrift store recently and I've become pretty obsessed.

Boho vibes

This isn't a look I'd normally go for but for some reason I wanted to try the whole 'boho vibes' kind of look.

Pattern Mixing / Life Update

I suppose I should start with the life update because that's why you're all here, right? If only I could portray my sarcasm on the internet.

MY FIRST CROP TOP

Hello! I'm back with yet another outfit post!
I normally post Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (and occasionally on Thursday's if I have a video) but tomorrow is my 23rd birthday! Wooo! So I thought I'd post my outfit today.

I'm thinking now that I've been really enjoying this I'm going to try and post two outfit posts a week (or something else fashion related) and one beauty post a week but we will see!

Onto my outfit...

I'll definitely be the first admit it that I am not much of a crop top fan. I think other people can pull them off but not me! But I've been interested in trying them for a while now and I found this cute black one for only 1$ at the thrift store! I love thrifting because it allows me to try trends I don't want to spend a ton of money on - like crop tops! They are half a shirt -- why do I have to pay 20 dollars for one?? But what I really like about this top is the lace detail on the sleeves!

As you can see... my skirt is also the perfect twirling skirt! I got it from Urban Outfitters probably a year ago but you can find the same skirt here for a lot less than what I paid (thanks vinted). My shoes are just plain black flats from Target that I've had for ages but they fit me perfectly!

As for make-up I decided to try something a little different than what I normally go for - a pink lipstick! I own quite a few but I never seem to wear them and I'm not sure why. I always feel like people are staring at me when I wear lipstick (which I know in reality they are not) but I really liked how it looked the other day. But that is it for my simple outfit and I hope you enjoyed this post!
