Winter Wonderland and new glasses!

If you live in the United States you've probably heard of the Snow storm "Jonas" that hit the East coast and South this past week. I'm thankfully fairly far west that we didn't get hit as hard as New York City but we did get quite a lot of snow for the area. I always forget how much I love snow until it happens. And maybe it's because I'm from somewhere that doesn't get snow too often but it sure is magical when it does. It just makes everything look like a winter wonderland and I'm wandering through Narnia.

I took advantage of the snow day and took some photos early while no one else was out and about. Since moving, I'm having a really hard time finding places to take photographs but I'm pretty glad for the snow day.

The snow was untouched and it was beautiful. I really wish I could have gotten a more detailed shot of my outfit without my coat on but it was so cold. I knew I wanted to keep warm so I threw on my wool skirt from American Eagle and some fleece-lined tights. For my top, I went for my peter pan collared top and a cardigan on top. My cardigan actually has bunnies on it! I know I'll feature it again soon so you'll get a closer look.

Shirt: Thrifted
Sweater: Thrifted
Skirt: American Eagle (old)
Coat: H&M (last season)
Shoes: Target

I also got new glasses! I haven't gotten a chance to photograph them until now but I love them. They fit me perfectly and I think they really go with my style nowadays.

If you're a fashion blogger - where do you go to take photos? Did you get by Jonas?

An Ode to Velvet Leggings

While you're reading this post - I'm on my way to Amsterdam!

I think I've discovered a huge game-changer when it comes to my autumn/winter wardrobe. Velvet leggings. Well, velvet anything - but leggings with this glorious fabric are the real standout here. I don't know if you can tell that these leggings are velvet from the photos (except the one where I'm sitting down) but they're a lot more dynamic in person.

I'm not normally one to wear leggings as pants but I think it's okay with a longer shirt like this. Plus, these leggings are super thick so they could even pass for looking like velvet pants!

This sheer blush colored shirt has surprisingly been a favorite of mine. It's oversized so it's easy to tuck into pants, skirts, etc but it also looks great with thicker leggings and a sweater! This was also a Dublin, Ireland find. I think it's originally from Primark, which isn't great quality but it's actually held up quite well!

My sweater was also second hand but is originally from Target. I don't need another striped sweater but I did really like the boxy fit of this one. It's also a really thick material so it's perfect for this time of year. I only wish it had full length sleeves.

This is actually a pretty Target heavy outfit as my flats are from there as well.

Lace-up shirt & mini update

I'm a little late to the trend but that's what always happens when you buy things from the thrift store! I actually took these photos a while ago but am just posting them now.... Oops.

Black and Gold

Even though it's the day after halloween - I love a good graveyard.

Windowpane Printed Shirt

It's no secret that I am obsessed with the Windowpane print that is so popular right now. I showcased a dress I picked up recently last week and now I'm back with an adorable shirt version! (I am obsessed OKAY?)

The Perfect Dress from Summer to Fall

Hello!

I am really excited because I'm posting five times this week! Today I'm back with another outfit post and it's all about transitioning from summer to fall (my favorite season!) I'm a sucker for a good shirt dress and this vintage looking one is perfect for the transitioning weather.

I thrifted this dress a month or so ago and I absolutely adore it. It's orginally from Modcloth, which I was very excited about. I love Modcloth but can never seem to afford any of their clothing so finding it second hand is always a great day! This dress so lightweight but still perfect for fall. It's still fairly warm here so this dress is perfect if its a little hot during the day and cooler at night. Did I mention it is also the most comfortable fabric!?

(ignore the fact that I look photoshopped here. I don't know why. I'm not.)

Another thing I love about this dress are the details. It's got such cute buttons on the top as well as a cute tie at the bust on the back. I didn't think the tie at the bust would be flattering but I actually really like it!

As for my shoes, I wore my fringe brown sandals from Target. (I saw them in the sale a few days ago if you want to check them out!) I can't wait until I can start wearing boots. I am getting very bored of my shoes at the moment. But these fringe sandals have definitely been a staple of mine this summer.

I hope you enjoyed this outfit post! Let me know what you think in the comments below.
Tomorrow I'll be bringing to you my September thrift haul!

Accessorizing 101: T-shirt and Jeans

Hello!
Today I'm bringing something a little different! I wanted to talk about how to transform a t-shirt and jeans into a really beautiful outfit!

I started out with my light wash skinny jeans from American Eagle and a plan baseball tee from Urban Outfitters. (wait, what - i didn't thrift anything for this outfit! but wait!)

To make this outfit a little more interesting than your basic t-shirt and jeans I added a fun floral kimono and the necklace from my last post! I've featured this kimono before but I think it can look fantastic with simple skinny jeans as well! It's also perfect for this time of year because it can still be hot where I am and this kimono is so light and airy!

I think adding a few accessories - like a necklace or a lightweight kimono can add vibrancy to an otherwise dull outfit! For the fall I'd definitely trade out the lightwash denim for a darker wash and perhaps something with some rips! I think this type of outfit can work for any time of year.

I absolutely adore this skinny jeans because of the detailing on the sides! Isn't it stunning? It's also really subtle and delicate, which I think definitely goes along with this outfit!

Casual Monday Outfit

Hello!

Today I'm bringing to you another outfit post! I was having a pretty chill monday so here is a very simple outfit.

It was pouring rain here but I managed to find some time to shoot some photos in this dreary weather. I feel like it rains everyday now! Anyways - with the end of summer approaching quickly I decided to get in a few more fun summer outfit posts!

This is another one of my go-to outfits. I picked up these vintage high waisted shorts about a year ago and I'm obsessed with them! I've never found a pair of high waisted shorts that I find flattering (and long enough!) and these fit like a glove. I was never a huge shorts wearer before I got these and now I want to wear them with everything.

I paired the shorts with a baggier t-shirt that I thrifted a few weeks ago. It's originally from urban outfitters and so comfortable! I'm normally not a big v-neck fan but this one is really nice. I also love the different colors of stripes. It's really different from my MANY other striped shirts! I also just added a nice brown braided belt from Forever 21 I got years ago.

As for shows I just wore my trusty black flats from Target. These are fairly old but I know they still make this kind of flats. They're great for the rain and have lasted for a really long time.

MY FIRST CROP TOP

Hello! I'm back with yet another outfit post!
I normally post Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (and occasionally on Thursday's if I have a video) but tomorrow is my 23rd birthday! Wooo! So I thought I'd post my outfit today.

I'm thinking now that I've been really enjoying this I'm going to try and post two outfit posts a week (or something else fashion related) and one beauty post a week but we will see!

Onto my outfit...

I'll definitely be the first admit it that I am not much of a crop top fan. I think other people can pull them off but not me! But I've been interested in trying them for a while now and I found this cute black one for only 1$ at the thrift store! I love thrifting because it allows me to try trends I don't want to spend a ton of money on - like crop tops! They are half a shirt -- why do I have to pay 20 dollars for one?? But what I really like about this top is the lace detail on the sleeves!

As you can see... my skirt is also the perfect twirling skirt! I got it from Urban Outfitters probably a year ago but you can find the same skirt here for a lot less than what I paid (thanks vinted). My shoes are just plain black flats from Target that I've had for ages but they fit me perfectly!

As for make-up I decided to try something a little different than what I normally go for - a pink lipstick! I own quite a few but I never seem to wear them and I'm not sure why. I always feel like people are staring at me when I wear lipstick (which I know in reality they are not) but I really liked how it looked the other day. But that is it for my simple outfit and I hope you enjoyed this post!
